The Sinn Fein conference passed a resolution that Ireland should present a ! claim for restitution and (reparation from England at the peace conference. The conference also recommended Irish Trade Unions to sever affiliation with English unions. The Countess Maikievicz's opposition to the election of MacNeil to the executive caused a scene. She declared that he had spoilt the Easter rebellion plans. Mrs Clarke, widow of an executed rebel, also condemned MacNeil amhd excitement, but his election was carried.
