HOCKEY.
The deciding game took place in the Park grounds on Wednesday between the Hawera ladies and the Technical College. Within a few minutes of the start a goal. was scored for Technical by Miss Patten, but shortly afterwards a goal was scored for Hawera by Miss Stone, thus making them evenr At the call of half-time the score stood Hawera 1, Technical 3, Miss Loveli having scored two goals for Technical. The second spell was very even, no goals being scored by either side. Technical College thus beat Hawera by 3 to 1, winning the southern championship. The following played well: Hawera—Misses Hobbs, Stone, Death, and Grant; Technical—Misses Gumming, Patten, Loveli, Machin and Robertson (2). Mr Colman gave every satisfaction as referee.
