THE RAUMAI TRAGEDY.
PALMERSTON N., July 9. -nr l th£ Magistrate's Court, before Mr VV. G. K. Kenrick, S.M., George Jackson was charged that at Raumai, on June 29, he did kill Thomas Claud trammer Jackson by stabbing him with a knife. + i_Ex ri:\ ence T w, as Siven to the effect that the Jackson family and three friends were at dinner "when a knock was heard at the door. Jackson and Mrs Jackson went out. When George Jackson returned to the dining room' he lacked his chair into a corner, and j lorn told him to behave himself, Jackson replying that he would do as he liked in his own house. 'George Jackson picked up a knife, and said*. "I yill run this into your guts." Tom lumped up and told him to put the knife down Jackson came partly round the corner; of the table, anil struck at Tom with the knife, which was m his right hand. Jackson then ,™ew dowß the knife, and said* ■ There, I told you!" Tom came round the corner of the table, and struck his father, the latter falling to the floor, lorn was making a further attempt to hit his father when pulled aside. The boy then went outside. He was carried m and put to bed. Tom was taken to a Palmerston private hosnital, where he died next morning. Jackson who reserved his defence, was committed for trial.
