WELLINGTON, July 9. At the Supreme Court, the 'Chief Justice sentenced George Cooke, who had pleaded guilty to five charges involving 34 separate offences for breaking, entering and theft, to two years' imprisonment on the first charge, one year on the second, nine months on the third, and six months on each of the other two, the terms to be cumulative, the sentence thus beino- four years and nine months. i Sir Robert Stout ordered Cooke to be brought before him to-morrow to show cause why he should not be sentenced on the previous charges on winch he had been ordered to come up tor sentence when called upon.
