FOOTBALL.
A strong effort is being made to resuscitate football in Hawera, and to enter a team of young men under military age for the competition held in South Taranaki. With, this object in view a meeting has been called "■ to be held in the South TaranakT Club rooms to-morrow (Tuesday) evening at 8 o'clock. The display of football on Saturday was so good that it roused considerable interest among the young men of Hawera. It is considered they "can get a good team', and with practice, to give a good account of themselves. They hope to b.e abl.o to get going at once", so as to get a match with Manaia, who have at present' a bye for Saturday next. Everyone who takes an interest in tho game should give the move hearty support and help Hawera to put in a team for the competition. At present there, are three teams playing--Kapuni, Opunake and Manaia
