N.Z. LOAN & MERCANTILE CO.'S REPORT.

X^ie X.Z. Loan and Mercantile Co., Ltd., Hawera branch, reports as follows : On July 2nd we held a clearing sale of dairy stock' on account of Mr A. K. lluscoe*, Waverley. There was a good attendance, bidding being very keen. The herd of about 38 averaged £11 6s: Pi-ices were: Bulls up to 20igns, good conditioned early calvers £13 los to £16 10*, later calvers £8 10s to £10 15s. Opunake sale was held on July 2. There was a fair yarding, comprising mostly .store cows. Prices were : Store cows £5 18s to £7 10s, 2-year steers £5 10s, weaner heifers . £'2 5s to £2 10s, steers £3. We held our Waverley sale on July 6, the yarding of sheep comprising about 200 and a full yarding *cf cattle. There was a keen demand for both cattle and sheep, especially for anything forward. Prices were: 2-tooth wethers 27s Id to 28s 2d, 4, 6 and Btooths 29s to 35s Id, 4 and 6-tooth ewes in good condition 33s 6d, hoggets (mixed sexes) 23s to 24s lid. medium fat cows £10 2s to £11 los, store cows £6 16s to £7 7s, 3-year bullocks £13, 18-month steers £8. weaner heifers and steers £4 11s to £o 10s.
