Newspapers point out that the apparent success of "the German war loan is due to the Government lending people large amounts of "money which the people lend them back. Many war loan banks have been specially established to lend paoer money for subscription tothe loan, on all manner of security, including furniture. Trouble will begin when the people before- the .end of the war or after the war demand the conversion of paper into cash. The: Weekly Despatch's 'Rotterdam correspondent says the ■German Government is deducting sums from; munition •workers' wages and .applying them to the war loan. This recently led to a strike and a serious; riot in Brunswick, which cavalry were summoned to quell.
