WELLINGTON, Sept. 5. The New Zealand ladies' hockey tournament, the gross proceeds of which go towards the Wounded Soldiers' Fund, opened at Wellington on Saturday. Results: — Wellington beat Wanganui, by 14 to nil; Manawatu beat Canterbury by 4 to 3; Wairarapa beat Hawke's* By by 2 to 1.
