FARMERS' CO-OP SOCIETY'S REPORT.

At the Dominion Horse Bazaar, Hawera, on Friday and Saturday, 27th and 28th of August, we held our spring horse fair, when 480 horses were catalogued, and a satisfactory sale resulted. .Competition was keen for young sound, horses. Unbroken heavy draught colts and fillies sold at from £2& to £36, medium draughts £18 to £27, lighter sorts £10 to £15, cobs £5 to £10, Shetland ponies £5 to £8 10s, weeds £2 to £3 10s, broken heavy draught horses £28 to £37 10s, waggon and milk carters £2Q to £30, aged draughts £10 to. £18, light harness horses £10 to £22 10s, hacks £8 to £18, cobs £7 to £15, ponies £4 to £11, weeds £1 upwards. At our Okaiawa yards on Monday we.held our usual fortnightly sale. There was a, small yarding and prices were the same as late sales. At Eltham yards on Wednesday last there was a fair, entry of cattle and prices were the same as- late quotations. Fat cows sold at from £9 10s to £10 11s, fresh conditioned cows £7 7s to £8 6s, forward cows £6 to £/_, store cows £4 15s to £5 17s 6d, heifers £3 15s to £4 12s, yearling steers £3 to £3 11s, heifers 35s to £2 12«, store pigs 25s 6d to 30s 3d, weaners 13s to 21s, dairy cows £6 to £8 ss, heifers £5 to £81Qs. At Hawera yards on Thursday we held our usual sale. The cattle pens were well filled and there was a good demand for all classes. We quote: *at cows sold at from £9 lQs to £11 Is, small steers to £12 ss, store steers ±,8 ss, fresh conditioned cows £7 3s to £8 7s forward cows £6 2s to £7, store cows £5 to £6, heifers £4 to £4 18s. 20-month steers £3 18s to £4 13s, good yearling steers £3 to £3 Bs, others £1 iS ? & X?V yearlinß heifers £1 15s to £2 12s 6d, poor calves (mixed sexes) 20s to 335, bulls £4 10s to £7 15s. bheep came forward in full supply, and competition was not as keen as late sales, and prices were a shade easier. Best wethers sold at from 31s to 355, fat ewes 27s 6d to-325, fat hoggets 21s lOd to 255, store wethers 17s 6d to 225, empty ewes 14s 3d to 20s, store hoggets to 20s, rams 20s to 255! la the dairy pens ther,e was a good yarding, principally heifers, which met with a steady sale throughout.
