The peculiarly dangerous type of. mine which is being used by the enemy in the Dardanelles operations is the invention of a Swedish scientist. It was offered some two years ago to both England and France and rejected, but was eagerly snapped up by Berlin. It floats automatically with the ebb and flow of the tide, and a very slight concussion will cause it to explode.
