MANAIA.

(From Our Own Correspondent.)

The Manaia Ladies' Patriotic Committee has received an acknowledgment from the St. John Ambulance Society of the receipt of two boxes of goods forwarded by them. The ladies are making up and sending away a box every month to the St. John Ambulance Society for distribution at the various hospitals for the use of wounded' soldiers. The executive will be pleased to receive donations of any ©icicles for this object. Mr John Russell has disposed of his interest in the Waimate Hotel to Mr W. Brown, the new proprietor taking over on Monday; also, I understand that the Manaia Hotel is changing hands, Mr Alex. Johnston having sold out to Mr,K. Kirk, of Auckland.
