■- LONDON, May 27. Official.—A submarine sank the battleship Triumph off Gallipoli. The Captain and most of the officers and crew were saved.

The Triumph was operating in support of the Australasians. Destroyers chased the submarine until dark.

A report received at Amsterdam from the Turkish headquarters state* the Triumph was torpedoed and sank in the Gulf of Saros, off Ariburna.
