WANGANUI, May 28: In the Supreme Court, jPhillip George Bernard, for attempted theft from the person on December 2i, at Wanganui, was sentenced to two years' and declared an habitual criminal. Bernard is a well-known_Australiah criminal with a. Jong list of convictions. Justice Edwards said he did not intend to allow the Dominion to be made an Alsatia for, Australian habitual criminals.
