ENTERTAINMENTS

OPERA HOUSE PICTURES.

The star drama produced at the Opera House last night—"Harbor Lights," was an intensely interesting reproduction of this nautical play. It is full of shrilling situations from start to finish, and every character is so well portrayed that one could almost imagine they were witnessing life acting, instead, of moving pictures. The supporting numbers included another series of "Dolly of the Dailies," a most attractive number, in which the "end of an umbrella" leads to an important discovery. "Stanley, the Lion Killer" and "Love, Oil and Grease" were productive of plenty of laughter; while the Australian Gazette and some lightning sketches (especially the latter) were well received. The music by the Lyric Orchestra was most appropriate throughout, and added materially to the enjoyment of the audience. The programme will, be repeated to-night, and is one well worth seeing".
