The casualty list received last night contains the names of two New Plymouth in«n killed in action on May 2. One is Corporal W. J. Copeland, who was for some time employed at J. C. Spedding and Co.'s New Plymouth branch, and the other, Private J. W. Smith, of Messrs BorthwiekJs staff, Waitara.

Lieutenant Paine, of the Engineers, who was killed in action in the Dardanelles, was twenty-four years of age, and was a native of. Auckland.

Lieutenant Richard Ewen Egglestone, who is reported as missing, is a native of Otago, and was born at Lawrence on July 6, 1889. He js a telegraphist in civil life, and was single.

Private Henry Peacock, of the Canterbury Battalion, reported killed in action, was a blacksmith eniployed by the Westport Coal Company. Corporal Kibblewhite, reported killed was formerly a draper's assistant in the employ of Messrs Magnus Manson, of Rotor.ua. . Lieutenant David John Albert Lyttle, who has been '-reported from the front as missing, was born at Waikaia on January 28, 1888, and was a school teaelier formerly in the employ of the Southland Education Board.

Captain A. V. Spedding. of the Otago Battalion, who is reported as killed, in action, was a son of Mr D. M. Speddino;, a Dwnedin auctioneer.-

Private Frederick Smith, reported as killed, was a laborer, formerly in the enrnloy of Mr P. McCann, of Dumediu.

Major R. Price, who is reported as killed in the Dardanelles fighting, was o^e of the most nopnlar and efficient officers of the 4+h (Otago) Reeiment. Prior to leaving for the front, he was p'noloyed in the Dunedin Public Trust Office.
