AMSTERDAM, May 23. The Vossiche Zeitung states that the German Defence Union has demonstrated against the United States > applying ammunition to the Allies.
Councillor Wagner stated : We must, unfortunately, count the Umved States among our enemies. The union carried a resolution, recommending the German Government to forcibly prevent the exportation of war material from America, nnd to forbid the export of such goods as America can only get from Germany, and restrict the importation of American goods. The union energetically rejected President Wilson's peace mediation. GENEVA, May 23. A German aeroplane bound for" Turkey alighted near Constantza, in Roumania. Two officers were interned.
SYDNEY, May 23. Anti-German feeling in Newcastle reached a climax by a mob wrecking a supposed German cafe. The police dispersed the crowd.
