CONSIDERATION
(Received May 20, 12.30 p.m.) LONDON, May 19. Questioned respecting the ceasoring an the Australian press of news which liad been published in London, Mr Rea, on behalf of Mr Rarcourt, replied that the responsibility rested with the Cominonwea.th Government. Mr. Lloyd George, in reply to a question, said tttat action taken since March 11 was effective in every respect in preventing cotton from reacning Germany.
Mr Asquith, in the House of Commons, said that any reconstruction of the Government was for purposes of «ar alone, and must not be taken as indicating anything in the nature pf surrender or compromise in anybody's political purposes or ideals.
Mr Bonar La\y said that the Opposition's sole consideration was finishing the war. They would leave out of their1 minds all considerations political or j otherwise. \ (Received May 20, 10.25 a.m.) 1 LONDON, May 19. Mr Asquith, in the House or Com■mons, 6aid the contemplated reconstruction of the Government on a broader personal and political basis would not affect the Premiership, the foreign Office, or the war policy.
The Dumcree was torpedoed but was not sunk and was being towed by a Norwegian steamer.. A submarine chased her, whereupon the Norwegian cast off, and a second torpedo sank the Dumcree.
