HOSPITAL BOARD.
This afternoon, the Board was at the I liospital on a visit of inspection. After ! looking round the ground and discuss-1 ing various aspects of the work with ' the architect, it was resolved that, j •subject to the approval of the Jnspec- ', tor-General, the operating theatre, ; -dispensary, anesthetic corridor, and necessary rooms attached, and also a Tpart of the nurses' home, with the office, as part of a general I scheme for the whole building, be put! in hand. The nurses' home, which, : "when completed finally, will aceommo- i ■■date twenty-five nurses, will he behind ! the present buildings, while the operating theatre, etc., will join on the j women's and children's ward. i On resuming at the secretary's office, ! ~ihe Health Inspector's report was read ' a»d duly received. There was one case ■ of scarlet 'fever, one of phthisis, one' of septisaemia, and one of enteric I fttver reported from Hawera. two cawe-,! •of scarlet fever from Eltham, and one I ■case from Hawera County. Inspection j •of drainage and plumbing in 1-jawera.] in Normanby, and of meat, tnv;nJ..! fruit shops in Hawera, Elthain, and!
