On Saturday night; about 9 o'clock, when a young lady was going to her home on the Mountain Road south, she was accosted by a man, who asked if she knew if a certain person lived there. She replied that she did not know, but that he might find out for Tnmself. He then caught the girl and hit her several blows on the head. •She struggled to get away from him and was successful, and ran to the nearest louse. The man then got on a bicycle and rode away. The girl. received a nasty bruise on the hand during the struggle, but retains no other marks from the blows.
