The enterprise of the German scouts is amazing. One of those taken prisoner rode seventy kilometres. The method is to ride in small parties with the object of seizing a passage, across, the Meuse. None of the attempts succeeded. A German pontoon bridge over the Meuse waa 'shot away and the 19th and 25th Regiments who were supporting the bridge-builders were mown down by •quick-firing guns. Forty thousand Belgian volunteers have offered to form twenty special regiments.
