A very mcc little concert in aid of the Presbyterian Church funds was held m the hall on Wednesday evenmg. Ihere was a 2 ood attendance, and the audience was most appreciative, encores being numerous. Soncs were given by Mrs Butler, Misses Joll f" d Lament. ? nd Messrs Blackman, Webb, and Hunter; quartettes by memtete ot the Hawera choir, a duet by Mrs Butler and Miss Laurent, a trio by Mesdames Hunter and French and Miss Sargent, an instrumental duet by Mrs and Miss Betts, and recitations by the Rev. Mr Rowe The accompaniments were played by Mrs Hunter, Misses Sargent and D. Joll and Mr Webb.
It is confidently anticipated that there will be a packed house at the Minstrel concert to be held on Friday evening. The Minstrels have made good progress, and a capital programme will be submitted. Some tellings "gags" have been worked up, and it is hoped that all those who are "hit off" will take the iokes in good part. This part of the programme is intended to. cause a laur*h, and not to offend anybody.
