PROBABLE FATALITIES
(Received June 1, 12 noon.) MELBOURNE, June 1. It is feared the passengers lost in the Empress of Ireland include Gabriel Marks, of the Suva firm of H. Marks" and Company, who, with his wife, is touring the world; also possibly the father, mother, and brother of Colonel Macmillan, of the Salvation Army Training College, Melbourne. They had announced their intention of travelling to London to the conference with the Canadian delegates. According to advices received at Army headquarters, the Salvationist death roll, aboard the Empress is 130. A cable from Bramwell Booth states he sant Commissioner McKie to stand by the Canadian forces, to whom he pay* a high tribute for their bravei'y. SYDNEY, June 1. Mr Holman, the Premier, is cabling to Canada sympathy in the loss of the Empress of Ireland. Sympathetic references to the disaster were made in various churches of the Commonwealth.
