There was good competition and practically everything was sold under the hammer, prices all round being in the vendors' favor. At Manaia, on the 26th inst, we had a fair muster of cattle, a good attendance of buyers, and a total clearance, satisfactory prices rv-ling. WANGANUI. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report as follows : — We held our usual fortnightly Wanganui sale on the 27th inst and offered a 'medium yarding of sheep and cattle. All classes of sheep sold freely, the demand for good rape lambs being well sustained. We quote: Fat wethers, 245; | lambs, 12s 3d to 14s 6d; 2-tooth wethers, 18s 2d; ewes in lamb, 17s 5d to 19s sd; 2-year | steers, £3 17s; weaners, 23s to 345; run heifers, '£3 3s; run cows in calf, £4 7s; Polled Argus weanere, £3; dairy cows, £4 15s to. £6; bulls, £2 17s 6d to £4 10s. ADDINGTON. At Addington, fat cattle opened well, and, though there was a heavy yarding, prices firmed towards the close of the sal?. Fat sheep were also firmer, but store sheep sold without change, though the demand showed some improvement. Fat pigs also sold at last week's rates. Fat lambs : Tegs, 20s to 23s 6d; extra prime tegs,-to 25s 10d; average weights, 18s to 19s 6d; light and unfinished, 14s to 17s 6d. Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd.,'report on their Johnsonville sale as follows : A good yarding of prime bullocks and sheep came forward, also a line of station calves. All lots were in good demand, and sold well at last sale prices. Prime heavy bullocks, £12 to £12 ss; lighter, £11 12s Gd 'to £11 15s: light. £11 grime heavy vealers, £2 16s to £3 3s; lighter, £2 6s to £2 11s; prime wethers, 23s 5d to 245; light, 19s 6d to £1; prime heavy ewes, 23s 6d; prime ewes, 21s 6«1; lighter, 19s 69; prime lambs, 15s.
