The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co. ,Ltd., Hawera, report as follows : — At Opunake on the 251h inst, we had a good yarding principally cows and young stock coming forward. There was good competition and practically everything was sold under the hammer, prices all round being in the vendors' favor. Fat cows (light), £6 9s to £6 15b; fnt> heifers, £5 Os 6d to £5 10s; fresh conditioned cows, £5 2s 6d to £5 12s; forward cows, £4 8s to £4 16s; store cows, £3 5s to £4; boners, £2 2s to £2 16*; bulls, £5 to £5 10s; 20-months steers, £3 13s; heifers in calf, £3 15s to £4 Is; wearer steers, £1 13s to £2 Is; weaner bulls, £1 15s to £2 2s; ,weaner heifers, £1 7s 6d to £1 4s; mixed weaners, £1 5s to £1 11s 6ri; store pigs (small), £1. At Manaia, on the 26th inst, we had a fair muster of cattle, a good attendance of buyers, and a total clearance, satisfactory prices rv-ling. Heifer? in calf brought £4 15s to £5 ss; fresh conditioned cows, £5 2s 6d; forward coy;:, £4 6s to £4 17s Gd; store cows. £3 7s to F3 18s; weaner steers, £1 12s to £1 ICk: weanor linfc-is, £] 6s to £114s; weaners (smell), Orf tn £1; store pigs, small, £1 5s to £1 Cs; fat and forward ewes, 17s. WANGANUI. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report as follows : — We held our usual fortnightly Wanganui sale on the 27th inst and offered a 'medium yarding of sheep and cattle. All classes of sheep sold freely, the demand for good rape lambs being well sustained. We quote: Fat wethers, 245; | lambs, 12s 3d to 14s 6d; 2-tooth wethers, 18s 2d; ewes in lamb, 17s 5d to 19s sd; 2-year | steers, £3 17s; weaners, 23s to 345; run heifers, '£3 3s; run cows in calf, £4 7s; Polled Argus weanere, £3; dairy cows, £4 15s to. £6; bulls, £2 17s 6d to £4 10s. ADDINGTON. At Addington, fat cattle opened well, and, though there was a heavy yarding, prices firmed towards the close of the sal?. Fat sheep were also firmer, but store sheep sold without change, though the demand showed some improvement. Fat pigs also sold at last week's rates. Fat lambs : Tegs, 20s to 23s 6d; extra prime tegs,-to 25s 10d; average weights, 18s to 19s 6d; light and unfinished, 14s to 17s 6d. Fat sheep: Extra prime wethers, to 28s; prime wethers, 21s 6d to 265; other, wethers, 15s 5d to 21s; extra prime ewes, to 31s 9d; prime ewes. 18s 6d to 23s 6d; medium ewes, Jss to 18s; aged and light, 11s to 14s 6d; merino wethers, 21s 3d ;merino ewes, 11s to 325. Fat cattle: Steers, £7 17s Gd to £11 ss; extra steers, £16 17s 6d: heifers, £6 5s to £8 ss; extra heifers, to £12 2s 6rt; cows, £5 15s to £9 ss; extra cows, to £10 ss. Fat pigs : Choppers and heavy baconers made equivalent to sid; porkers, equivalent to 6d. JOHNSONVILLE. Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd.,'report on their Johnsonville sale as follows : A good yarding of prime bullocks and sheep came forward, also a line of station calves. All lots were in good demand, and sold well at last sale prices. Prime heavy bullocks, £12 to £12 ss; lighter, £11 12s Gd 'to £11 15s: light. £11 grime heavy vealers, £2 16s to £3 3s; lighter, £2 6s to £2 11s; prime wethers, 23s 5d to 245; light, 19s 6d to £1; prime heavy ewes, 23s 6d; prime ewes, 21s 6«1; lighter, 19s 69; prime lambs, 15s. WESTFIELD. At Westficld ox beef brought £1 9s to £1 13s; cows and heifers to £1 8e per 1001b. Steers brought to £14 15s; cows and heifers, £5 7s 6d to £11 15s. Calves: Runners brought to £5 2s; suckers, £1 8s to £3 6s; fresh dropped, to £1 | 2s; Sheep: There was an advance of 2b per I head. Wethers brought £1 *2s 9d to £1 11b ; ' ewes, 12s 6d to £1 V.s. Lambs: These brought 8s 9d to £1 2s 3d. Pigs: Baconers brought £2 15s to £4 ss; porkers, £1 5s to £2 15s. I
