THE SUFFRAGETTES.

DIREFUL DISASTER PLANNED

BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION-COPYRIGHT.

(Received May 6, 9 a.m.) LONDON, May 5. Suffragettes placed a gunpowder bomb in the valve-house at Dewsbury Reservoir, Penistone. The fuse just failed, but if it had exploded the damage would have been tremendous, as it would have been impossible to stop the flow of water.

The damago to the picture (portrait of Henry James) is estimated tt £200. Mary Woods, the perpetrator, has been committed for trial.
