At to-day's meeting of the Hawera ;£? Sp ™1 **oard the acting-chairman (Mr W. Goodland) proposed that Mr l*. VV. Tayler be chairman. This was seconded by Mr C. Tarrant and carried unanimously.

Mr C. C. Tarrant, a valued member or the Hawera Hospital Board, is about to take a trip to England, and at today * meeting of the Board Mr Tarrant's resignation was received with regret.

The funeral of the late Mr B. Reillv took dace on Sunday. The members of the Hawera Bowling Club attended ra force and Messrs Kimbell, Henson, Crabb, and E. Bates, Tait, and W Robertson were the bearers. Among the wreaths forwarded were one from the Hawera Bowling Club and one from Manaia Club. The Very Rev. Dean Tower condiieted the services, and delivered an impressive address at the graveside.
