• The Goulds, arrested for espionage, liave been remanded till the 11th. Bodtin stated that a letter in Gould's letter-book to a correspondent, in 1903, showed that his real name was Schroeder. He had fought in the Franco-German war, and visited most parts of Europe as a member of the secret service for a foreign Power. .Bodkin remarked that Gould was a spy in Britain for many years, and had told a former schoolfellow that he was an «igent of the German Government, letters in his letter-book proved the payment of money, and also a request for two hundred marks.
