DANNEVIRKE, March 5. At the Dannevirke meeting the sum of £15,063 was put through the machine, as against £10,071 on the first day of last year. Results are as follow :

Dannevirke Cup, of 200 soys., li mile.—l Mr D. Kemp's Kooya, 7.3, 1: 4 Mr P. Hunter's Settler, 7.3, 2; 2 Mr K. White's Braeburn, 7.2, 3. Perceler led from the start into the straight, being closely followed by Settler. Kooya got the measure of Settler and won by a long neck, Braeburn being a length away, third, and Trieze and Perceler fourth and fifth respectively. Time, 2 mm. 35 sec.

Hack Hurdles.—l A .Atwood's Pepalitz 9.6, 1; 2 E. Limbrick's Composed, 10.0, 2; 4 P. J. Carmont's Stockade, 9.3, 3. Papalitz fell on his nose at the start, but W. D. Young made a wonderful recovery and gave chase. After going a mile he was up with the field, led into the straight, and won easily by two lengths, the same distance separating the second and third horses.

Electric Hack.—l D. McLeod's Zeus, 9.6, 1; 2 P. Hunter's Mysterium, 7.0, 2; 5 Stannard's Sir Ahba, 7.9, 3. Won in a canter by half a length.

Tamaki Welter (open).—2 A. Leicester's Nescal, 8.1, 1; 1 G. Hunter's Mysteriarch, 9.3, 2; 7 R. Hockley's Montreal, 7.7, 3. Won by half ahead. Makirikiri Hack Handicap.—3 P. P. Neagle's Evfdne, 8.12, 1: W. S. Taham's Orleans, 7.1., 2; F. (ft Roe's Ladify, 7.13, 3. Won by a length.
