SUPREME COURT.

AUCKLAND SESSIONS

BY TELEGRAPH PRESS ASSOCIATION

AUCKLAND, March 4

The Court heard a case arising out of the recent miniature war at Port Chevalier over the establishment of a sanitary depot there. Henry Atcheson was charged with assaulting Heririette Edwards and William Pratt. The latter were financially interested in the depot, and Atcheson was one of the residents of the district who objected to the institution being established there. Before the evidence for the defence was concluded the jury_ expressed the opinion that a verdict of not guilty was the proper one. The Judge accepted this, and accused was discharged. A verdict of not guilty was returned in the case against Amo Hemi Temeti, charged with the theft of £345 from another native.
