WELCOME RAIN.
A steady rain fell over the district: last niglit, and ' should prove beneficial to the countryside. It will alsobe welcome to those who have to rely upon tanks for their water supply. Most welcome showers commenced to* fall in the- Opunake district last evening (says our own correspondent), and: continued throughout the night. Therain will be the salvation of the pastures, and a perfect joy to the heart cf the dairy farmers.
