LONDON, Dec. 22. Dr. Newman, chief medical officer of the Education Board, reports that of six million school children examined, 10 per cent, showed defective eyesight, 2 per cent, defective hearing, 2 per «en£. suppurating ears, 10 per cent, adenoieds, 1 per cent, ringworm,' and 1 per cent, tuberculosis, 35 per cent, heart disease, requiring a dentist over 50 per cent. Half a million were physically undermined owing to malnutrition.
