The steamer Prina \»'aldemar brought a report from the island of JJobaul that 'two men, scientist s, and fourteen natives had been murdered by caniiibals at the" inland of New Mecklenberg, formerly known as New Ireland. It appears that, Herr Deininger and another German, wtih a number of native carriers, were collecting specimens of timber, and were surprised and massacred by savages. There are no details. • : ;
