All were well when the Aritiope. left excepting Mrs Pick, whose mitid w^k stated'to be temporarily deranged through the troubles jatte^nding the wreck. The captain of the yrect ed barque asked the Antiope to take all the marooned people to Sydney. This was impossible, but the Antiope offered to take fifteen. The offer was declined, the captain deciding to keep the crew; together, in anticipation of £n ealrfy visit of a schooner to the isiland which would carry them ,to Totiga. He a^sked the Antiope to report to his owners in Havre. The Latour Deutergne had -..broken amidships; she was full of water, and the wreck was sold to traders for £90. ■
