PERTH, Dec. 20. Correspondence between the Imperial authorities and the Premier, regarding the resolution passed by the Assembly in November last year, asking the Colonial Office to reconsider the question of the appointment of State Governors, with a view to permitting citizens of the Commonwealth to occupy the office, has been published. Mr Haroourt's reply, while attaching great weight to a proposal which was supported by the. Assembly and endorsed by Ministers, state's that a change in the present system could not be entertained, unless it applied to all the Australian States, and public opinion were demonstrated overwhelmingly in its favor.
