NEWTON KING'S REPORT.

On Tuesday, 16th inst', I held my fortnightly sale at Rahotu, on one of the roughest days experienced on tills coast for years. Considering the" -weather there was a very good yarding of cattle, although several vendors were unable to muster. Competition throughout was good (on some lines keen), and I was able to clear practically the whole yarding at satisfactory prices as follows: Good 15-months steers, £3 13s to £3 8s; yearling steers, £2 18s to £2; grade yearling to 15-months heifers, £3 2s 6d to £2 10s; colored yearling heifers, £3 8s to £3 2s 6d; springing heifers, £4 to £5; empty 24-year heifers (good), £4 0s 6d to £4' 6s; cows and calves, £5; good conditioned stags, £8 17s 6d; bulls, £3 to £10 12s 6d; bull calves, £1 2s to £1 13s; sniall or aged store cows, £3 8s to £3 12s; good store cows, £4 3s to £4 18s; forward cows, £5 to £5 14s; fat cows, £7 3s to, £6; nice pen of 2i-year steers, in very forward condition, £7 11s; other lines of'2i-year steers, £5 8s 6d to £5.

At the same sale, under instructions from the Public Trustee, I sold the cattle and suncaries "from the late J. F. Virgin's Warea farm. These were in very good condition, and obtained spirited bidding, prices being: 15-months steers (fine line of 90), £3 13s; smaller, £2 17s; very choice Jersey yearling to 15-nionths heifers, £5 13s; good Jersey heifers, nice colors, £4 x2s 6d; pen of 15.month brindle heifers, £3 10s sd; Holstein heifers (too much black), £3 19s; good 15-months Shorthorn heifers (well-grown), £3 Is and £3 6s 6d; farm horses, £36 to £21; s.f. plough, £5 12s 6d; new spring cart, £17; disc harrows, £5.

A very fine line of 1295 2-tooth wethers were penned Y>y Mr W. A. McCutchan, and elicited spirited competition, falling to Fred Bayly, of Tututawa, at 15s.
