TOWN BOARD

The monthly meeting of the Board was held on Monday. Present: Messrs Da vies (chair), Stew art, Cocker, and Robson.

Miss Statham, Government inspector of old soldiers' graves, wro.te, enclosing cony of her report to the Department.

Messrs Welsh and McCarthy wrote, enclosing the copy of a Bill as to tbe exchange of sections from the Board to the King.

rThe Clerk was instructed to write to Miss Sta.tham, thanking; her for the report; and to Messrs W. F. Massey, G. V. Pearce, and Welsh and McCarthy; thanking them for their efforts on behalf of the town regarding the Waihi endowment and exchange of sections.

The Clerk was, instructed .to write to the Hawera County Electric Company, drawing their attention to the state of the street lighting. On the motion of Commissioners BoT>son and Stewart, it was decided to write to the Hawera County Council regarding work to he done on the Ohangai road, stating that the. Boar'l will exnect the Council to bear half the cost of same.

Owners of dilapidated culverts are to De notified that they must he put in order at once. It was decided to call for tenders for the r'i^ht W remove the old cottage standing on the Paj*^, tenders to close on December .29. ; Accounts to the amount- of £21 12s 3d were passed for payment.
