(Received Dec. 9^ 11 a.m.) SYDNEY, Dec. if. ProfeMor Cooke, the Government Astronomer, states that the comet of 1900, which was recently re^discbrered, is «tiH faintly visible through the tele--ccope. Sooner nr later it will pass very riose to the earth, or may actually run tnto uh. The first chance of this hapfiening will be in October, 1926; hence *t is important to ascertain the comet's present movement with a view to providing a basis for reliable prediction regarding the 1926 return.
