\Y3,Ohi OUtt OWN COiUESPOHOENTJ M'AiVAIA PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH. A vory successful sale of work in connection with the Manaia Presbyterian Church was held in the Town Hall on Wednesday. The various stalls were very tastefully arranged by a host olHnlHng workers, with a large" variety of articles, useful, ornamental, and ed"ible. Considerable interest was shown •in an exhibition of cooking by girls under 16. During the evening the proceedings were eulivened' by the following ' musical items: Orchestra, three selections; solos by Mrs Gee and Rev Mr Howes, who also gave a humorous reading; piano duet, Misses Bridge and Mvteheu; accompanists, Misses Hunt and Bridge. The chairman (Rev Mr Howes) briefly thanked all those who had contributed to the success of the function, with a special, word of commendation to the ladies, and to their energetic secretary (Mr T. A. Bridge). Brisk business was done during the afternoon and evening, and as a result a considerable sum will be available towards the reduction of the manse debt.
