MANGAMINGI v. RAWHITIROA

On Friday last the Mangamingi cricketers motored to Rawhitiroa to meet the crecketers there in the concluding match of the season. Previous matches had resulted in each side having a win, and this match was looked forward to with a good deal of interest, each side being represented to its full strength. Rawhitiroa won the toss and sent the visitors to the wickets. Gower and Berridge commenced the batting to the bowling of Kelland and the redoubtable Slinger. Both bowlers were in good form and the wicket being fast, kept the batsmen on the defensive. The last of the visitors' wickets fell at the respectable total of 96. Parkinson and Maber commenced the task of overtaking their opponents, but were unable to make any stand against, the Mangamingi bowling, three wickets falling in quick order. When the lastwicket fell the score stood at 37 —59 runs behind the winners. The scores were: Mangamingi: A. Gower 16, E. Berridge 12, J. Hickey 6, H. Gower 0, J. Hickey jun. 0, C. Duff 16, R.
