THE TERRITORIAL OATH.

NELSON, Aug. 2. Mr Evans, S.M., to-day dismissed an information against senior cadets for refusing to take the oath of allegiance, on the grounds that cadets are not part of the Territorial force, and cannot be drafted directly to the force. They are not required to take the oath prescribed by the Act, nor are they liable to punishment for refusing to take the oath prescribed by the military regulations, which differs materially from the statutory oath, both in scope and obligations.
