A meeting of junior cadet officers of the Second Battalion was held to-day to discuss the present movement towards the demilitarism of school cadets. The opinion was freely expressed that in the interests of discipline and of military training generally the step would be a decidedly backward one. A committee was formed to draw up a memorial to the Minister of Education setting forth reasons why junior cadets should remain as at present constituted.
