POTATOES AND ONIONS.

The inquiry for potatoes continues particularly good, and as supplies on the spot are not heavy excellent attention is being paid to all sound lines. There is pi-actically no change to report in the condition of supplying markets. Present values on spot are £6 10s to £7 per,ton., Some small parcels of locallyproduced onions are coming forward and receiving keen attention. Supplies, however, of New Zealand oniono are practically nil now, and next month's shipments of San Francisco-grown will be eagerly awaited, despite ; the\ high prices quoted.—Dominion. y Potatoes: Th^ Wanaka, Rakanoa, and Tarawera have arrived with shipments from the South, which come to a poorly-stocked market. We do not expect this supply will,last long, as the demand is very good, and merchants have orders to overtake. ■'■ Prices in the South are still very firm, and as the shipments, to Australia liave been landed without difficulty, and to an extremely good market, Southern shippers. are^ paying their attention to Australia,^ and. leaving' the Northern markets alone. It is quite likely that the ; market is as low ndw as. it will he until the end of the season; The price is firm at £7 10s. ; • . !
