UNIONISTS INDIGNANT
3Y CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT. LONDON, Aug. 2. The Unionists protested against the suddenness of the announcement of the withdrawal from the Sugar Convention. Mr ..Asquith consented to give a day to discuss the situation. The Morning Post says that the one point whereon members of both sides of the House, in the lobbies, are agreed, i^jjlat the Manchester election is closeiJPcottnected with the Government's detfision. The Unionists, while deploring tn&i decision, emphasised that the withdrawal would enable a. tariff reform Government to give preference to the West Indies.
