AN ATJCKLAND PROTEST

AUCKLAND. July 12. A protest is to be lodged in the Arbitration Court by a number of Auckland "wit manufacturers against the a^reev ent which is to come before the Court fur ratification. Objection has been tniven that the agreement is not in accordance with the rules. Tlie Federation of Manufacturers disused, the matter at a meeting, at which Mr Pryor was present, representing the executive, which is a party to the agreei icnt. A motion was moved thanking t,ie executive for the amicable settlement, and an amendment was proposed expressing no-confidence in the executive m its action in securing a settlement of the dispute. The amendment vas ruled out of order, being a direct ■negative. The motion was lost It is understood that those voting gainst intend to lodge a protest in W;t rhlt: a!i on Cf, «rt a^inst the ratification of the agreement.
