OLYMPIC GAMES.
BRITISH TEAM CRITICISED
BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT.
LONDON, July 12
Mr Thomas, ex-president of the Oxford Athletic Club, writing in the Daily Mail, caustically criticises the British team at Stockholm. Tlie other nations, except Britain, he says, regard the Olympic games seriously. The Americans have won unprecedented and remarkable victories by their determination and sheer merit. England's incompetence is largely due to lack of i-ga-nisatioa'.' STOCKHOLM, July 12.
The Americans again predominate today in most of the preliminary rounds. Go'uldiug (Canada) won the 10,000 metres walk in Ihr. 7min. 58 2-ssec.
Italy won the gymnastic display, Britain being third. Longworth's illness is not dangerous, and ho is recovering.
