TWO ARRESTS IN AUCKLAND

Constable Hill saw a man enter the Clarendon Hotel through a trap-door at 1 o'clock this morning. With Constable Cowan listening outside they heard the rash register ring. Bo.th constables entered by the trap-door and proceeded to the bar. where they discovered two powerfully-built men" who submitted to arrest quietly. One was hiding under the counter, and the other was trying to hide behind a partition, rso money was missing.
