LEVIN, June 27. Rugby roughs were severely penalised at last night's meeting of the Horowhenua Rugby Union. Seymour, better known as "Furrie," was disqualified for life, also Healey. Both players are Shannon men, who in the match against Levin on Saturday last threatened the referee, disputed his decision, and used obscene language within the hearing of a neighboring team of lady hockey players. "Furrie," when ordered off the field, seized Mr Eccleton (the referee) by the throat and nape of the neck, and threatened him with what he would do to him after the match. During the disturbance a third Shannon player. Cobbler, used obscene langauge, and told the referee he would "stand up to him." The Union disqualified Cobbler for two years.
