A MURDEROUS ASSAULT.

AUCKLAND, June 26. As A. J. Roberts, a stationer at Ep- . com was leaving his shop last night he was murderously assaulted by a man, •who presumably intended to rifle th^ premises, and was struck over the head with a heavy piece of timber.
