THE SESSION.
SIGNS AND ANTICIPATIONS
[Br Telegraph :—Special to Star.] WELLINGTON, June 25. The scene in the lobbies in already as hustling as during the heart of 'the session. In the already large muster of members the Opposition is best represented, many of its southern supporters having arrived on Sunday. A preliminary caucus was held last night, and more are likely to come off before the opening day. A long meeting this afternoon was presided over by Mr Massey. It is understood that the idea of these gatherings is to secure a thorough understanding upon all .important matters of policy. Tlie actual procedure when the campaign opens is a matter entirely in Mr Massey's discretion.
It is the intention of Mr J. A. Millar to remain in Rotorua for a few days after the session opens, but his friends anticipate that he will be in his Parliamentary place several days before the division.
By general consent it seems likely that the debate will last until after July 10, so as to give Mr Herries, now returning from England, an opportunity to vote. Several legislators now engaged on Royal Commissions may find their duties duplicated, but no serious difficulty will arise, as it is intended to hold the final sittings in AVellington at an early date.
