ASSOCIATION.

The match between Taranaki and Wanganui is described by the Chronicle as the best played on Victoria Park tor some time. The teams were very evenly matched,,there net being muc'i to pick and choose between them." lhe first score was made by Taranak" Hazeltine finding the net and almost immediately afterwards Burgess scored making things level. Just before halftime Wvhe (Taranaki) scored again and laranaki led for some time. Early in the second spell Wanganui scored and again equalised matters. Amidst much excitement the home team ran ahead scoring twice in Quick succession. From this out Taranaki were right on the ball and Hazeltine almost, scored They attacked aocain and Quillim put in a left foot shot which kept low and beat the goalkeeper. Thero were only a few minutes to go. and play was most ex°j -7 No furtlier score was made. a-nH thus ended a most interesting and brilliant game.
