AN IMPORTANT CONFERENCE

MATTERS OF MOMENT TO BE

WELLINGTON, June 24. A conference of representativesl of freezing works throughout the North Island will be held at Wellington on July 9 to consider, and, where it is possible to do so, promote the betterment of the transport and handling of frozen meat, and other matters relating to the frozen meat trade generally. Before this conference opens there will be a meetinn ig Wellington on July 5 of engineers and other technical members of the staffs of freezing works. This meeting will consider certain matters and bring up a report upon them for presentation to the conference meeting on the 9th. It is hoped that correspondence will be received by mail in time for the conference giving full details from the Associated Frozen, Meat Co.'s representative in London (Dr. Robinson) with respect to the Port of London Authority's p?-oposals for the improvement of dock*ing arrangements and the better handling of meat from ship to market.
